American Airlines, despite operating nearly a million flights, posts a 24.9% delay rate.<\/p>\n\n<p>Southwest Airlines deserves a mention: it operates the most flights of any carrier in our dataset (1.37 million) and has a 22.6% delay rate, but its average delay is only 13.8 minutes \u2014 the shortest among the top 10.
