Hidden Triple

This technique is much like its younger sibling, the ‘Hidden Pair.’ The only difference is that you must find three hidden candidates, not just two.


  1. Look at this example: it contains both a Naked Triple and a Hidden Triple. While the Naked Triple is somewhat easy to spot, can you find the Hidden Triple here?

  1. There are only three cells that contain the numbers 5, 6, and 7. This means no other numbers can be found in these cells.

  1. So you can delete any other candidates that are not present in these cells.
