Skyscraper
This Sudoku pattern can be somewhat easy to spot. Just find two rows or columns that contain only two candidates of the same number, and if one pair belongs to the same row or column, then you have spotted it!
- Consider this example. This pattern forms a Skyscraper with the value 7

- Notice that the two highlighted cells belong to different units, and one of them must contain the value 7

- This means that all candidates that see both of those cells can be eliminated.
